Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer acted as Financial Advisor to AMCO on the Sale of a Majority Stake to MxO Capital

Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer acted as Financial Advisor to AMCO and its selling shareholders in connection with the sale of a majority stake in the company to MxO Capital, a private equity firm focused on long-term value creation in Mexican businesses.

AMCO is an integrated education platform serving K-12 schools across Latin America. Its offering combines proprietary teaching methodology, digital and printed educational content, and a technology platform that supports students, teachers, families and school administrators. According to MxO Capital, the platform is used by nearly half a million students in 12 countries across the region.

The investment is intended to support AMCO’s next stage of growth and innovation. MxO Capital plans to provide additional capital and strategic support to accelerate product development, expand the integration of artificial intelligence across the platform and broaden AMCO’s academic, technological and school-management solutions.

AMCO’s existing management team will remain in place following the transaction, providing continuity while the company pursues further expansion across Latin America and other international markets. The investment reflects MxO Capital’s view of AMCO as a scalable education technology platform with a strong regional presence, proprietary content and methodology, and an established operating model.

Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer advised AMCO and its selling shareholders in connection with the transaction. The company and its shareholders were also advised by Ritch Mueller and VAHG, while MxO Capital was advised by Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, EY and A&M.
