Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer acts as Financial Advisor to AGSA on its Debt Restructuring and Senior Secured Financing

Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer acted as Financial Advisor to Agropecuaria Santa Genoveva, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (“AGSA”) in connection with the restructuring of its syndicated loan and long-term senior notes, as well as co-advisor in a USD 72 million senior secured financing led by The Rohatyn Group (“TRG”).

The financing was structured to support AGSA’s continued growth and was secured by first-priority interests in the company’s land and standing timber assets. TRG led the structuring and underwriting of the transaction through its Private Credit and Forestry & Agriculture teams, combining financial structuring expertise with specialized knowledge of forestry assets and the Latin American market.

AGSA is one of the largest vertically integrated plantation teak operators in Latin America. The company sustainably manages approximately 17,000 planted hectares of FSC-certified plantations in Mexico and operates across the forestry value chain, from plantation management to the production of processed lumber for international markets.

The transaction represents an important step in AGSA’s financial restructuring and growth strategy, providing a tailored financing solution designed around the company’s operational needs and long-term development. It also reflects the continued role of structured private credit in supporting companies with significant real asset bases in Latin America.

Through its participation in the restructuring and financing process, Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer supported AGSA in navigating a complex capital structure and coordinating with the relevant stakeholders involved in the transaction.
