Alfaro, Dávila & Scherer and Moelis & Company are acting as Exclusive Financial Advisors to Círculo de Crédito in connection with its definitive agreement to be acquired by Equifax for an enterprise value of $750 million. The transaction represents a significant milestone for Círculo de Crédito and further expands Equifax’s presence in the Mexican market.
Círculo de Crédito is a leading credit information services company and the fastest-growing credit bureau in Mexico. The company provides consumer and commercial credit bureau services and serves more than 1,700 customers across banking, retail, fintech, small business lending, microfinance and telecommunications. Its database includes approximately 2 billion tradelines covering 80 million validated identities.
The acquisition is expected to provide Círculo de Crédito with access to Equifax’s cloud-native technology, analytics capabilities, identity protection tools and fraud prevention solutions. The combination is intended to strengthen the development of data-driven products and services while supporting continued growth and broader financial inclusion in Mexico.
Under the terms of the agreement, Equifax will acquire 100% of Círculo de Crédito’s equity from its existing shareholders. The transaction has an enterprise value of $750 million and a stated purchase price of $825 million, with the difference reflecting an estimated $75 million of cash expected to be held by Círculo de Crédito at closing and no outstanding debt.
Following completion of the transaction, Círculo de Crédito’s existing management team, led by CEO Juan Manuel Ruiz Palmieri, is expected to remain in place, with the company becoming part of the Equifax International business. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and was announced with an expected closing in the fourth quarter of 2026.
